What is Cellular Agriculture?
Cellular agriculture is a new concept of production that is carried out by culturing the cells themselves that make up an organism outside the body of the organism, without having to raise animals as before.
It is expected to be a sustainable food production method that has less environmental impact than traditional agriculture. In addition, applying cell culture technology has the potential to create a variety of products other than food.
While technological development related to cellular agriculture is accelerating around the world, there are challenges to be solved in order to realize cellular agriculture in the benefit of society as a whole, like guidelines for new entrants, information disclosure and general understanding of technology, rule making with an overall view from production to distribution, etc.
